Jeff Wright, LMFT

Jeff Wright is a Licensed California Marriage & Family Therapist (CA LMFT 41427). He has been co-owner and Director of UpLift Therapy since 2017.

In his private San Francisco psychotherapy practice, Jeff offers short-term solution focused counseling and depth psychotherapy to individuals & Couples who share his desire to create and enjoy happy, connected, fulfilling and inspiring lives.

In working with individuals and couples, Jeff employs a clear, compassionate & effective approach. He offers practical tools you can put to immediate use to improve the quality of your life, work and relationships.

A leader in his community, Jeff has served as President of Medicine Path Native American Church, Berkeley, CA since 2007. He sat on the Board of Directors of San Francisco’s Marina Counseling Center, a non-profit community counseling center / therapy intern training program for 10 years (2008-2018).

Jeff is a husband, father, family member, friend and mentor. Past experience as a laborer, schoolteacher, bartender, mental health practitioner, recovering addict, athlete and devotee of the martial arts also informs his work.

Courtney Collier, LMFT

Courtney Collier is co-owner and CEO of UpLift Therapy. She is also a California Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (CA LMFT50882 ) in private practice in Newport Beach, CA. She has over 16 years experience offering counseling to individual adults and couples.

Within the frame of a safe, contemplative environment a therapeutic relationship can help in exploring deep life concerns and assist you in developing a greater sense of personal satisfaction in many areas of your life. As a therapist, I attempt to create a supportive setting where my clients explore a wide range of issues-emotional, interpersonal, psychological, spiritual, as well as exploring practical relationship tools for couples.

My personal experience and years of clinical work as a therapist offer my clients a diverse range of counseling expertise and insight . It is my hope that our work together will contribute to your capacity to create deeply satisfying relationships in which mutual respect, honesty, and joyful expression are valued.

Our Office Polices

  • Appointments

    All appointments are made through our Online Scheduling Calendar. Simply choose a therapist and click the “Book Online” button in their profile. Please note: appointments cancelled without at least 24 hrs notice will be charged the therapist’s full fee.

  • Length of Sessions

    Most therapeutic sessions are 50 minutes in length. Consult your therapist regarding exceptions.

  • Fees / Payment

    Fees for service are set by your therapist. All payments for service are made online via debit/credit card. Clients are required to store a credit card in our secure online payment system at time of booking. This payment method will remain securely on file and may be used to pay for appointments at time of service (you are welcome to offer alternative form of payment at time of service if you wish). Your payment info is encrypted. No one at UpLift Therapy has access to your financial information.

    PLEASE NOTE: Card on file will be charged for missed sessions and sessions not cancelled with at least 24 hrs advance notice.

  • Confidentiality

    UpLift Therapy and your UpLift Therapist have a legal duty to maintain confidentiality. No information about you will be released to or shared with anyone without your prior written consent.

    There are legal exceptions to the duty of confidentiality. If UpLift Therapy or your UpLift Therapist has a reasonable belief that you are in imminent danger of causing harm to yourself or another person, they have a duty to contact appropriate authorities to protect physical safety. UpLift Therapy and your UpLift Therapist are also required by law to break confidentiality in order to report child or elder abuse to appropriate authorities.

  • Crisis / Emergency

    If you are experiencing an emergency and need immediate assistance, please call 911. If you are in acute crisis, please contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline Call 1-800-273-8255. You are welcome to inquire with your therapist as to their availability outside of regularly schedule therapeutic sessions.

Insurance Questions

  • Does UpLift Therapy accept insurance?

    No. UpLift Therapists are out-of-network healthcare providers. We do not work directly with any insurance providers and are not directly covered by any insurance plans.

    You will pay your therapist’s full fee via debit/credit card at time of service.

  • Can I get reimbursed by my insurance provider?

    Perhaps. UpLift Therapy is partnered with Patch (getpatch.com), an online insurance management service for out-of-network healthcare providers.

    Using Patch, your UpLift Therapist can determine whether you are eligible to be reimbursed by your insurance provider. For your convenience, we can also submit reimbursement claims to your insurance provider on your behalf. Ask your therapist about out-of-network insurance coverage.

  • Are there any other resources that can help me pay for individual or couples counseling?

    You may also pay us using your flexible spending account (FSA) or health savings account (HSA) provided by your employer. Ask your UpLift Therapist for details. Contact your human resources department to find out whether you qualify and to learn about tax savings or other benefits.
